Electronic Collar Training: $650.00

Ideal for the dog owner looking for quick off-leash control in any circumstance. This type of collar is similar to what many people use in their yards as electronic fencing. The big difference is that our collar and training are portable. You can go to the park, walk in the neighborhood and even take it with you on vacation!

Our electronic collar classes consist of seven, one hour sessions and this is completed over a three to four week schedule.

The first class is a private, ninety minute session. The remaining classes include two or more dogs for distraction purposes. Classes are one hour long, weekly sessions, with daily homework in between.

We have had much success with our remote collar training program and we look forward to giving more owners total off-leash control over their dogs. This is normally achieved in the first 3-4 sessions. Yes you can be off-leash with your dog anywhere and know that he will immediately come back when called!

The training is easy on everyone, most importantly, your dog. The collars we sell and use are Dogtra and Tri-tronics brand electronic collars and are included in the training package price. They have a dial to allow you to adjust the level of stimulation as needed.

We are the ONLY professional dog trainers in the area training with these collars and have years of experience using them with both pets and police dogs.

Prices for the collar and seven training sessions start at $650.00.

For more information on the collar that is included in the above price, visit www.dogtra.com or www.tritronics.com . For more information on scheduling your training with us, call us at Midwest K9 Training at; 574-298-5066.

Police Patrol Dog Training

We have proven experience in police patrol dog training. Since beginning Midwest K9 Training in 2005 we have completed training on six police canine units for three different agencies. Our years of on going training with the South Bend Police Department K9 Unit and the various schooling we have received make us some the most trusted patrol dog trainers in the area.

We are a small enterprise and we do not actively pursue contracts with local police agencies to train their patrol K9 units. These agencies have come to us because of our commitment to excellence, and because we can offer a department individual, one-on-one dedicated training. Our trainers have averaged over 2,000 on-duty police dog deployments.

We take great care in picking out the right dog for the specific need of any department. We select the dog according to what the department will be using the dog for. For example; if it will be a midnight street patrol dog with an experienced handler, the drive of the dog chosen could be stronger than a daytime patrol dog and a new handler. We also like to chose dogs that are able to recognize situations instinctually and react with the proper response. All of the dogs we select are able to do public demonstrations and remain calm while interacting with the general public.

A great deal of the police dog training we provide deals with the handler and their understanding of how to “read” their dog. We are able to convey this understanding to the handler with our one-on-one training courses. This is why we believe we are chosen over larger training agencies. We are also certified trainers and can teach your canine department supervisor how to handle any ongoing training needs for your department.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us anytime. We would be pleased to present your department with a written quote for your police canine needs.
